Education Week

Each year, we hold a major celebration during Education Week, which is very well attended by our community.

This year, we hosted many popular events that our community loves to participate in, including Grandparent's Day, our Book Parade, a writing and art showcase, a spelling bee, open classrooms, a puppet-creating workshop, and our book fair.

Education Week is a significant event that brings our community together and enjoys strong participation every year.

School Camps

This year, our students in Stage 2 and Stage 3 had the opportunity to go on school camps. Our dedicated staff work hard to provide these wonderful experiences, and our students love the chance to learn and explore outside their regular school environment.

Our Stage 3 students went to Canberra, where they enjoyed learning about our parliamentary system. They learned how to vote, visited both the new and old Parliament Houses, went on a guided tour of the War Memorial, and had a fantastic time at Questacon and the snow.

Meanwhile, our Stage 2 students visited The Tops Camp at Stanmore Tops. They participated in many team-building activities and had an amazing time creating lifelong memories with their friends.

Our Extravaganza

We also host our bi-annual Extravaganza, led by Fleur in her RFF role. This event involves 95% of our students taking the stage to perform a class dance in front of a live audience.

The performance is recorded and screened at Events Cinema, allowing families to enjoy the show. We look forward to watching this amazing performance this year.

Easter Hat Parade

Each year, our K-2 students have the opportunity to participate in our Easter Hat Parade. All students create a hat at school and proudly parade it around the school quadrangle. Local preschools are also invited to attend and join in the celebrations.

School Excursions

All stages have the opportunity to attend excursions and incursions that supports what they are learning in class.

Carnivals

Our student love sports and attend our swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals throughout the year.

Performing Arts Opportunities

At Ruse, we have a very strong Creative Arts program, and our students are given many opportunities to showcase their talents in dance and drama both within and outside of our school.
